The videos, which feature Mr Murray using powers to conduct menial tasks, seems to have been recorded on the same film set.
Released anonymously, a campaign has now begun in earnest to persuade the mystery filmmaker to come forward in an attempt to verify the nature of their origin.
If, as the tapes seem to show, Mr Murray does have super-powers his public persona will sky rocket, and could make him the best-known actor in the world overnight. His celebrity status has already begun to balloon across the world. Even in countries that have never broadcast any of his programmes or films, it is popular for children to talk with gruff London accents and imitate the Brentwood-based actor’s walk before shouting the words “Billy Murray away!” and pretending to fly off.
The anticipation of Billy-fever has created a number of copycat efforts from other celebrities hoping to cash in, including a poorly shot video of Pat Sharpe levitating. It is thought that, should Billy go public, he will be offered his own nightly TV show, to broadcast after Eastenders. Content for the show is still unknown though there is speculation that it would follow a Jim’ll Fix It style format with Billy travelling the country, making dreams come true for good children, and destroying any naughty ones he meets along the way. |
